Drawing Near / Leviticus

Leviticus is not the first place most of us look when we seek to draw near to the Lord. So many of the ritual practices of the Ancient Near East seem foreign to our current cultural sensibilities, and some of the restrictions given can seem out of touch or offensive. For modern readers, unearthing the beauty of Leviticus is reminiscent of an archeological dig, requiring diligent, persevering effort. So using this study, we will work through Leviticus one week at a time, observing what was written, learning bits and pieces of the cultural and Biblical context, and starting the work of interpreting and applying these life-giving truths. We are confident as you wrestle through these glorious and difficult passages, the Holy Spirit will increasingly open the eyes of your heart to the magnificent person and work of Jesus whose shadow covers every page.
